Rabindranath Tagore one of the finest well-read personalities of the 19th century has given us many things to cherish and ponder in the amazement of his literary works, such as fictional stories, dramas, novels, the one amongst those “Gitanjali ” just wondered the world with an honoured gift of a Nobel prize.

Rabindranath Tagore was basically a Bengali polymath who reshaped Bengali literature, music, and Indian art with contextual modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, where Rabindranath Tagore became the first non-European to win the Nobel prize in 1913.

“Nationalism” is one of those collected essays which Rabindranath Tagore has written in the 19th century and early 20th centuries, where he took its peak platform to define the core origin of nationalism, he defines nationalism as the epitome of humanity and vice versa.

He in his essay of “Nationalism” divided the nationalism while defining it into three partisan one being the “Nationalism in Japan” the other ” Nationalism in West” and finally ” Nationalism in India “. He is a perfect pen to write the effectiveness of relationships between a human to its humanity, he has been to the utmost importance of education and experiences to compare the reliability of existence in the domain of the humans that is the core of ” Nationalism”

Rabindranath Tagore took up the Nationalism of Japan and West to throw a light of intellectualism, understand the origin of togetherness to witness the signing of the nationally integrated masses with a single moto, to rise a purified and well versed “Nationalism” in India. The Japan nationalism is more about the collective action towards the use of national importance to the making of human capital the worthy of their respective courses of action to make the nation’s largest developments.

Japan was the realm of possibilities in the times when it awakened from the dark age of wars, famines of 1783. Where Rabindranath Tagore says ” the real freedom is not within the boundaries of security but in the high road of adventures, full of the risk of new experiences”. One morning the whole world looked up in surprise when Japan broke through her walls of old habits in a night and came out triumphant. It was done in such an incredible way that it seems like a change of a dress and not like building a fine structure of the nation.

Japan knew its worthy the sooner it could so as the west acknowledges with an appraisal of honour. This is was the enlightenment of bringing the entire mass together tightened to establish a nation of people’s upbringings, where they are free from the mind and heart, where they acknowledge the receipt of taking nationalism as pride within themselves.

” Nationalism of West ” is taken by Rabindranath Tagore as the maven of the concept of capitalism and commerce, while ignoring the rule of law on the floors of the West. This became the true picturesque of ignition of nationalism in Europe, where the largest mass established their belief in bringing the prejudices amongst themselves, putting everything, even the natural human law aside to bring the reshaped commerce in the commercialization of commodities and introducing classes in the civil society. In contemporary to this Rabindranath Tagore quotes” the protection of the law is not only a boon, but it is a valuable lesson time us. It is teaching us the discipline which is necessary for the stability of the civilization and for continuity of progress.we are realising through it that there is a universal standard of justice to which all men, irrespective of their castes and colours, have their equal claims”.

The west in course of time recognised the importance of nature and human natural laws, which let them introduced the concept of feelings in their respective hearts and among their societies, the feeling of love and honour towards their great nation, which possibly brought the sprinkle of ” Nationalism of West” in existence.

” Take away man from his natural surroundings, from the fullness of his communal life, with all its association of beauty and love and social obligations, and you will be able to turn him into so many fragments of a machine for the production of wealth on a gigantic scale. Turn a tree into a log and it will burn for you, but it will never bear living flowers and fruits.” Rabindranath Tagore on taking humanization from it’s beneath the existence making things worse to introduce capitalism in practice.

Rabindranath Tagore garlands a beautiful concept of nationalism throughout the pluralism of people exist in an ecosystem,

” India has never had a real sender of Nationalism. Even though from childhood I had been taught that idolatry of the nation is almost better than reverence for God and humanity, I believe I have outgrown that teaching, and it is my conviction that my countrymen will truly gain their India by fighting against the education which teaches them that a country is greater than the ideals of humanity” Rabindranath Tagore while introducing the concept of nationalism in India, with reflecting the essence of humanity amongst the people’s upbringings and naturalization.

Our real problem in India is not political but indeed social. This has to remember, this is not only in India but amongst many countries worldwide. The political atmosphere has dominated in the west so as we are copying them. We shouldn’t forget that whereas in Europe there is racial unity in the population from the beginning. And where there are less natural resources, but in spite those major issues, Europe has never made its picture look dull enough, the dogma of preaching the social obligations among the People’s of India seems to be a greater challenge in practical terms.

The problem of race unity which we have been trying to solve for so many years is still a failure to be true to the utmost. There are still cases around lingering, dodging questions about the equality and equal rights among the people’s of all races, colours, and castes.

Europe has her past. Europe’s strength, therefore, lies in the history. We, in India, must make our mind that we cannot borrow other’s people history and that if we stifle our own we are committing a suicide when you borrow things that do not belong to your life, they only serve to crush your life. create your own verse to defeat the other.

And you should understand ” what is huge is not great and pride is not everlasting”
